General FAQ ________________________________________
Q. Where do our sessions take place? A. We are on-location photographers, meaning we will go wherever you like! We love it when our couples choose a location that holds a special meaning to them, such as the spot where your fiance proposed, or where the two of you first met. There are so many beautiful locations on the beaches, parks, vineyards - if you need suggestions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
Q. What is an engagement session? A. Engagement sessions are a perfect opportunity for us (your photographers) to capture your love story in a natural and relaxed way. Not only do you get beautiful photos out of it, but it gives us the chance to learn more about each other, you'll see how we work, direct and pose, and you'll have an opportunity to become more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day! Not engaged? Already married? That's okay! We love photographing couples during all stages in their relationship! Need more info? Read a little bit more about engagement sessions and why you should have one!
Q. What is a bridal session? A. A bridal session is a session centered around the bride, usually scheduled about 2 months before your wedding day! Wear your wedding dress/veil, bring your bouquet and get pampered with your hair/makeup trial. It's a great way to test out your wedding day look, giving you ample time to make necessary adjustments before your big day! Traditionally, these portraits are given as gifts or shared as decor on your wedding day.
Q. What is a trash the dress session? A. Most brides never get the opportunity to wear their dress again. To change that, some choose to have a trash the dress session. These sessions are a great opportunity to get additional bride and groom photos (you can never have too big a gallery of romantic portraits!). Since the wedding is over, there is no need to worry about getting the dress dirty from sitting or leaning, etc. Most often, towards the end of these types of sessions, the bride chooses to completely "trash the dress", all while getting carefree and artistic shots. Many couples will go in a pool, ocean or bay. Some will hike to a river. Others will get creative and have a paint fight - the possibilities are endless!
Q. What happens if it rains the day of the shoot? A. If the weather is predicting more than a 30% chance of rain on the day of your lifestyle session, we are happy to reschedule for the next available date!
Wedding FAQ ______________________________________________ Q. What is your style of photography? A. We are True Color photographers. Our company represents true and natural colors that will showcase the actual colors of your day. This style is timeless and not a trend or something that will fade in time.
Q. Do you photograph elopements? A. Of course! There is something we find so romantic about elopements and we would be honored to capture yours! Please email us for pricing and availability.
Q. Do you photograph more than one wedding a day?
A. Absolutely not! Your wedding day is one of the most special times of your life, and we make yours a priority! This means no other sessions or events are scheduled for that date.
Q. Should we have a first look? A. Deciding to have a first look is a personal decision, and one the two of you should make together. There is no right or wrong answer, so choose the option best for you! That said, we will always recommend having a first look - among many other reasons, they're so meaningful, create a much less rushed timeline, and give the opportunity a larger gallery. If you have questions regarding first looks, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Q. How much time should we set aside for our wedding day portraits? A. When you're creating your timeline, we recommend reserving anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes for bride and groom portraits, which are one of our favorite parts of the wedding day! This does not include the time needed for formal portraits of the family or bridal party. By setting aside as much time as possible for this portion of the day, you're not only getting a beautiful collection of images, but it gives you an opportunity to spend some time alone together - just the two of you!
Q. Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? Oh yes we do! I am extremely comfortable working in all types of lighting conditions. We love natural light, but we are highly experience in off camera flash and bring a variety of strobes for any situation that may arise.
Q. What happens if it rains on our wedding day? A. The day of your "I Do's", we shoot rain or shine. If it rains, we will make the best of it! That said, if you're having an outdoor wedding, it never hurts to have a plan B in place. I highly suggest clear top tents or Sperry tents (both of which are perfect even for a plan A!), and clear or white umbrellas for the bridal party. Q. We think you are the perfect photographer for us! What do we do next? A. It makes us so happy knowing that you think we're a great fit for each other! If you have any questions or would like to reserve your wedding date, get in touch. We love getting to know each and every one of our couples and look forward to hearing from you soon!
