Desiree Anzalone
Hello, my name is Desiree. I fell in love with photography and film at a very young age. When I was 9, my best friend and I were creating little movies that we made up with our young imaginations. I continued to take photos with my Nikon 35mm film camera throughout my teenage years and what I loved most was capturing candid moments of human beings in their natural state. I went to UNT to study film while also juggling modeling and acting for an agency.
The next five years of my 20’s would shape the course of my life forever— I was 25 and diagnosed with breast cancer. Confused, scared, shocked and bald, I ultimately beat the disease and remained cancer free for 3 years until it suddenly came back and spread to my organs. This time it was stage 4. I was scared but I knew my fighting spirit would beat it once again, and now I can proudly say my treatment is working and my tumors are shrinking. The diagnosis was somewhat of a curse but also a blessing as it truly made my photography career blossom. I knew my soul would crumble during treatment and living on disability if I didn’t continue creating art so I bought myself a professional camera and began shooting portraits, beauty, fashion and conceptual photography using my best friend and self as models. After I started to own ya and I iiiiimy craft, find my aesthetic and produce better images, I gained more exposure, more talent, more passion. |
I now live and breathe photography, spending every waking moment scouting models, locations and my favorite part...the photoshoots. I naturally have a good eye for capturing that moment between the client and myself. With my attention to detail, dreamy imagination and experience being in front of the camera myself, I create images that are intimate, candid, natural, yet artistic and unique. I strive for authenticity in my work. I don’t want to create images you’ve seen before so working with me guarantees you will receive a rare and offbeat experience that will stand out from the crowd. My friendly, down to earth personality puts everyone Ive worked with at ease.
Its very important to me that my clients feel completely comfortable and at ease. Whatever event you’re seeking photos for, I put my heart and soul into making sure each image makes you feel something deep inside, taking you back to that special moment in time. What I love about photos is that they last a lifetime, even after we’re gone they carry on to our loved ones—To capture a moment that produces an inanimate object you can hold in your hands is the invention that continues to amaze me the most. Like Hippocrates said, “Life is short, art is long”...I want to be that person for you that transforms your special day into a remembrance of things past.
